Halo Custom Guitars Expands Selection of Baritone Guitars

Halo Custom Guitars Expands Selection of Baritone Guitars

Halo’s New Baritone Guitars are Handcrafted by Expert Builders.

Cupertino, CA (Vocus/PRWEB) March 26, 2011

Halo Custom Guitars serves musicians worldwide and has expanded its offering of baritone guitars. The addition of twenty new models provides discerning guitar players more features and higher performance compared to existing choices on the market today.

The expanded offering of baritone guitars was driven by strong consumer demand and shifting trends in modern heavy metal music. “For 2010, Halo’s top selling models were from Baritone and Extended Range categories,” stated Jeff Lee, General Manager with Halo Custom Guitars. “Baritone and extended range guitars are like regular guitars, except they play lower notes and sometimes higher notes, or both. Heavy metal music is primarily electric guitar-driven and that makes it necessary for heavy metal guitarists to use high performance electric guitars like Halo’s. Modern heavy metal music tends to be played in lower tunings, which is something standard guitars were not designed to do.”

Halo Custom Guitars’ new baritone guitar models are designed to play in lower tunings and are available in electric and acoustic versions. Halo baritone guitars are equipped with advanced components, which offer similar or better performance than many higher priced instruments.

“It’s exciting to be part of Halo Custom Guitars as they are growing and their products are differentiated from what you would find in most guitar stores,” stated Alvin Gatewood, Halo’s Quality Control Manager and long time guitar player. “There are not enough professional options available when it comes to baritone guitars. Halo’s new baritone guitars utilize Neck-Through-Body Construction, which is an advanced guitar building method that produces better sound and stability. With Neck-Through-Body Construction, the guitar’s neck runs through the entire length of the instrument. This construction method produces an instrument with superior resonance and sustain by making the neck a component of the instruments body, rather than an attached extension of the body, as is found in other construction methods. Halo baritone guitars incorporate many professional features and with factory direct prices – it’s a win-win situation.”

“In addition to offering one of the largest selections of baritone guitars, Halo Custom Guitars also offers a comprehensive build-to-order service through the Halo Custom Shop,” stated Bruce Lee, Halo’s Sales Director. “The Halo Custom Shop specializes in building guitars according to customer-supplied specifications. The result is our customers receive professional instruments tailored to their exact needs.”

Musicians interested in learning more about Halo Custom Guitars’ new baritone models can visit http://www.haloguitars.com or speak with a Halo Representative at 1-408-873-8606.

New Guitar Technique Enables Guitar Players to Learn to Play a Bar Chord in Under Two Minutes

New Guitar Technique Enables Guitar Players to Learn to Play a Bar Chord in Under Two Minutes

Guitarist Douglas Niedt

Kansas City, MO (PRWEB) December 1, 2010

Guitarist Douglas Niedt publishes a free guitar technique tip on his website every month. Niedt’s newest and just released guitar technique tip enables almost any guitarist to play a bar chord in under two minutes. This is rather astonishing in the guitar world, as it usually takes months or sometimes years for students to master bar chords. Niedt explains how to do it step by step with six detailed, hi-def video clips. Among other topics, he explains a little-discussed guitar technique of using one’s arm strength to hold barres. This is particularly helpful for beginning guitarists, children, and others who may not have enough hand strength to play a bar chord clearly. Niedt goes on to explain various elements that can go wrong and how to fix them to get the chord to sound clearly.

Niedt often uses humor in his guitar technique tips to get his point across. In this month’s tip he includes a video spoof of the hokey late-night commercials for Ginsu Knives back in the 70’s titled, “Bar Chords–the Ginsu Knives of Guitar Playing.”

Guitar players who visit Douglas Niedt’s website may sign up to receive his Technique Tip of the Month for free. His past tips include topics such as harmonics, vibrato, slurs, playing fast scales, arpeggio techniques, how to practice, performing, and free Christmas arrangements. The tips are highly detailed and most include dozens of musical examples and close-up, high-def video clips. Over 60 free guitar technique tips are available on the site plus software training programs to help students learn the guitar fretboard, guitar theory, and improve their ear training skills. Niedt’s CDs, DVD, and books are also available for sale on the site.

Douglas Niedt is associate professor of guitar at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance and a recording and concert artist. Niedt not only teaches at the University of Missouri, but also teaches privately in Kansas City, MO and provides video guitar lessons through his website.

Learning To Play Guitar – Your Own Easy Guide To The Electric Guitars

Playing the electric guitar is different compared to playing the acoustic guitar. Ideally, you should already know how to play acoustic guitars before you decide to proceed to electric guitars since most of the time, you will only play the electric guitar if you would like learn how to play the lead part.

This can be hard if you don’t have an idea of what a fret is or even how to read guitar notes. Nonetheless, learning to play guitar, even the electric ones, mustn’t be as tough as you assume. It just takes patience and perseverance.

The electric guitar was initially used in jazz music in the 1930s and was initially known as the Rickenbacker, named after the last name of the person who built it. These guitars work by transforming the string vibrations to an electrical current. This current will then be converted to a sound by the amplifier.

Some guitars have seven strings. A few even have 12 guitar strings. Depending upon your expertise, you may choose from these versions. Almost all lead guitarists use the regular guitar with six strings. Yet, heavy music genres use a 12-stringed guitar.

]]>

As mentioned before, the electric guitar is dependent upon the amplifier. Therefore you should purchase not just the guitar but additionally the amplifiers. Here is a list of the guitar accessories that you will like to complete:

Amplifier – this has to be around 10-15 watts. An amplifier with this kind of power can only be used for practicing but not for performing.
Guitar strap – the electric guitar is heavy therefore you can’t play it while standing without a strap. Obtain a durable guitar strap and don’t be attracted by the fit. Buy something practical, not beautiful.
A cable wire – use this for connecting the guitar to the amplifier.
Guitar pick – the electric guitar isn’t as simply played like the acoustic version. Your fingertips will hurt should you not make use of picks.

Learning to do guitar tuning effectively is a must in playing the electric guitar. Learning to play guitar is rather difficult if you don’t learn how to tune the instrument. Tuning the electric guitar takes more skill than tuning an acoustic because of the amplifier’s role in the sound.

The amplifier may distort your hearing therefore the ideal step is by using a good tuner. An electronic tuner doesn’t much. It’s tough for starters to find their pitch and so an electronic tuner is a basic need when learning the best way to play guitar, especially electric guitars.

And lastly, you have to play melodies which you like. It is rather depressing to play tunes which does not appeal to your interest. In truth, you will learn more quickly and more encouraged if you’re trying to play melodies which you really like. If the chords are quite complicated, find some melodies which have not more than six notes.

Work your way up to the more tough ones slowly but surely and we ensure you, you’ll be singing your way towards your guitar career. Check out our awesome Electric Guitar Lessons. Feel the fun of learning new skill and playing your own music.

New Limited Edition Electric Guitars at PrivateReserveGuitars.com Include the Gibson Custom Johnny Winter Firebird 50th Anniversary Flame Top Les Paul

New Limited Edition Electric Guitars at PrivateReserveGuitars.com Include the Gibson Custom Johnny Winter Firebird 50th Anniversary Flame Top Les Paul

Medford, OR (PRWEB) July 28, 2008

Private Reserve Guitars is offering two new Gibson guitars; one commemorating a significant artist, the second marking the introduction of an iconic electric guitar. In honor of master bluesman, Johnny Winter, Gibson has introduced the Gibson Johnny Winter signature Gibson Custom Shop Firebird. In celebration of the 1958 Les Paul anniversary, Gibson is offering the Custom 50th Anniversary 1958 Flame Top Les Paul Guitar.

The Gibson Custom Johnny Winter Signature Guitar is a limited-edition Gibson Firebird V that pays tribute to the bluesman, songwriter, and producer who began recording at the age of 15 and went on to perform at Woodstock in 1969. High points in Winters’ career include production of two Grammy-winning albums by Muddy Waters, his own lengthy roster of critically and commercially successful blues and rock albums, and his induction into the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame in 1988. Johnny Winter still tours regularly, well known for his slide guitar chops, soulful blues, and incendiary rock guitar. Gibson’s artist model Firebird V is a careful re-creation of Johnny Winter’s iconic guitar, the 1963 Gibson Firebird V. This futuristic solidbody guitar features a mahogany and walnut body with rosewood fretboard and delivers impressive tone from a pair of mini humbuckers at the bridge and neck.

The Gibson Custom 50th Anniversary 1958 Les Paul Standard Guitar was meticulously crafted in a limited run of 200 and features a flame top that’s been carefully aged by guitar guru Tom Murphy. The guitar has all the vintage appointments of the original that first debuted in 1958 including an aluminum stop tailpiece, vintage tulip-style tuners, and tortoise side position markers. The thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish has been applied using the practices that were standard in 1958. The Gibson Les Paul sports a nickel-plated stopbar and two BurstBucker pickups at the neck and bridge which have been custom-wound to emulate the original ’50s Gibson humbuckers. This Les Paul incorporates CTS potentiometers for volume and tone, as well as the bumblebee capacitors, custom-made for Gibson to precisely replicate the original electronics.
