RE: Finger Picks. . .
• Once you have established a comfort level with finger picks, you can really get some great clear “Bell Like” sounds out of the strings with a bit more punch, but also gentleness, than without them. They make the strings ring out a bit more as well.
• Be versatile, play the appropriate songs without them, and some songs with them.
• It can take some getting used to, but you will know when you are there. Don’t give up!

Nice lesson!
Sounds pretty much like “Buckets of rain” by Bob Dylan

This is just great. Plays beautifully. Thanks so much. I love this song and you nailed it so very well. I would love to see more of Andy Kimbel music and learn more of your stuff if you get the chance. . . Or if anybody might have more of these that could be posted here maybe?
Thanks again!

Great Great Great. I’ve been playing around with some open tuning and some inside out picking and this video has brought them together nicely. Thanks m8

Very Nice, Looks like he uses thirds all the way up and then back down. Really has that Chris Smither type of Style and feel mastered! More!

@bobblunn
Hello. I have no formal training and feel that if someone practices enough, all that comes naturally.
I can’t really say if I have proper technique, it’s just what came from playing a long time.
Thanks for tuning in.

Great lesson! One thing – You didn’t mention any detail about the proper physical mechanics for bending. (Is it in the fingers vs. wrist action?)
Thanks for sharing &
Jam ON!

@digismash I’m really glad it helped. It’s a cool thing when somebody takes the time to say thanks, few do. : )

@willievega actually this one helped a lot, phrasing is my biggest problem. I learn a lick and I can hear how its played but when I play it, it sounds off. Not with every lick, but with a lot of them.

@digismash Maybe you are being a bit hard on yourself. It’s good to have high standards but don’t beat yourself up too much (unless you finf yourself playing video games instead of practicing!)
Anything you’d like to request that I may be able to help with? A lesson on something?
