7 gives a feeling that next note will be root,
in your nickname scale there is 7b right before root, it gives a feeling that you will be moving away from root in next note. Now try end piece in that note and you will leave in your audience brains feeling of next note.Try to figure it out on your instrument and maybe you will be able to see what Jason intented to do.
That is in my humble opinion motivation of last note.
I hope it will help you understand what happened in last note 😉
good luck
@gruberatorr What pieces? you mean Classical guys purposely end their pieces a half step away from the key?!? – don’t I know humans make mistakes, including MY favorite players?!!? who’s trolling here? “basiclly” he messed up the last chord- big deal, I just pointed it out to you and you agree w/ me – and even Friedman would be humble enough to admit it, w/o excuses – unlike yourself.
HOLY SHIT!!! If I could play like this, I would hole myself up in my room with a million bags of peach rings and monsters, and I would do nothing but rock out all my life… ohhhh yeah… that’s my personal heaven… As it is… I’ve only been playing 3 years :- /
@Kugarok Nothing i said about Hendrix was false period!..Look man i know jason beckar deserves recognition big time..I had perpetual burn on cassette in 88 used to take it to work with me..And people thought it was crazy shit at that time! And the piece for his parents ”air”Is so bad ass it kicks the shit out of yngwie malmsteen classical..I remember my buddy said back in 2003 he said i went looking around for perptual, said the album was out print..One of the greatest guitarist walked the
@dannyhood66 False. Ever notice all the Hendrix fan boys are 50 year old guys who play Pentatonics and have no idea how to actually open their mind up to the instrument? Nuff said.
@Kugarok Stupid fucking comment! ”Hendrix changed the way people played electric guitar 40 something years ago..Any guitarist that learns Jason becker’s stuff first will eventually come back around and learn Hendrix style of playing..Satriani and Steve vai come from Hendrix influence.Hendrix only had rhythm and blues,Motown, Elvis and Bob Dylan records to work with at the time.. Even still axis bold as loves solo has arpeggiated triads following mixed chord structures!..Hendrix is so necessary
If you pretentious asshats spent even half the amount of time actually practicing as you do on messageboards and crap criticizing players like these, then maybe you wouldn’t hate them so much. Either way, every style has something different to offer. What’s the point in comparing? Music isn’t a competition, just play the type of stuff that YOU want to play, and it doesn’t matter who is “faster” or “better” or whatever else. Jesus christ.
I’m sick of all these morons always pulling “jazz” out of their asses in conversations like these in an attempt to look like they know what they’re talking about and/or to make it appear as if they’re “well rounded musicians” or some shit. The only challenging aspect of the “jazz improv” that most of you bitter know-it-alls always talk about is the modulating chord progressions and key changes. Aside from that, it’s pretty easy. This ”shred” stuff is way harder technique-wise though. Face it.
@cnmaster01, ever heard of chromatics? you can go out of key whenever you want. And any “weird” sound your guitar makes is still characteristic to the instrument, so Jazz is a great style, that was the first to explore exotic ways of playing music. Metal wouldn’t exist without first going through jazz, classical, blues, etc.
