Go to yourguitarsage.com to find out how to get a chart to this song and 100s of other songs!!! This guitar lesson vid shows you how to play Teach Your Children by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. It shows you the chords, strumming technique and style. Check out yourguitarsage.com for info on my online instructional resources about charts, chords, strumming and the techniques that I use here in my videos.. For more guitar lessons, see my other free tutorials. For original and cover music by me, Erich, go to www.myspace.com . Since I’m so busy making new video tutorial lessons all the time and teaching guitar, I probably won’t have time to answer individual questions regarding guitar. Other videos cover beginner, advanced and intermediate levels. I teach rock, blues, country and just about any other style on electric or acoustic. If you can’t find your answer from the resources at the website above, keep digging into my vids, and I’m sure you will find your answer. Keep practicing!!!

I have your ebook but still can’t figure out the strumming pattern for this song and I’ve watched the video several times over and over. Love the book and your videos. Can you please tell me what level and which strum pattern this song is? Thank you!

@hawk1fan
Thank you my friend! I REALLY appreciate it. Yeah the number system will change your life on how you view chords. It takes some time to get the hang of it, but then it will help SO much.

Just bought the eBook. A MUST HAVE for anyone wanting to learn. Nice breakdown of strum patterns, chords and musical theory for dummies, (like me). The numbers system gets a little more advanced but once you have got a grasp on chord charts the numbers fall into place. Thank you Erich for the time you have put into this. To all you that haven’t bought the eBook, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? It will be the best $10 you have ever spent to learn to play! I know you’ve bought 2-3 $20 videos.

you could substitute the Bm for a Bm7 which can be played without using a barre

Very cool teacher. I’ve bought the book, and learned Amazing grace, Anyone else but you, Clementine in the past few weeks..which for a total beginner is great!

Nice job again, Man. Thanks!
And, hey! people out there: better give you’re time and (if you can) 10 bucks for his e-book to this nice, modest and commited guy, rather than to some others who put some really crappy vids online, only to take you to their website and who delete your post when you dare saying (in a very NON-offensive manner) that their “transcription” is inaccurate and that they’ve done better. Check out “Counting Crows guitar lesson” and try to guess who’s the one I have in mind.

You might want to look up CSN and CSNY. They were not only ahead of their time, but chaged the course of music in their day.
